PreAuth / Void / Capture

PreAuth

Authorization hold (also card authorization, preauthorization, or preauth) is a service offered by credit and debit card providers whereby the provider puts a hold of the amount approved by the cardholder, reducing the balance of available funds. Funds are still in cardholder's account.
In order to reach this stage no special API call is needed. Its just a configuration that is set on PSP side and on our end for the designated PSP and any successful transaction executed will result to this state.
Once the transaction is in this state you can choose what should be the next step.
  • Void or
  • Capture

Void

Voiding a transaction is releasing the funds which were on hold in cardholder's account and cardholder's account balance is now updated with the additional funds. Once this action takes place, capture is no longer an option.
This action can be performed either through API call or through our Merchant Admin panel

Request Example

1
POST /{{version}}/{{API_KEY}}/payment/{{id}}/void
2
Content-Type: application/json
3
Host: {{API_URL}}
4
Authorization: Bearer {{ACCESS_TOKEN}}
Copied!

Capture

Performing the capture is removing the funds from the cardholder's account and placing them into the merchant account. Once this action takes place, void is no longer an option.
